D4 motorway (Praha – Příbram – Písek)
Czechia's D4 runs south-west from Jíloviště, where it meets I/4 from Prague, to Nová Hospoda at the I/20 near Písek, about 75 km. The state built the sections from Jíloviště (Jíloviště – Varadov, opened 1971) to Skalka by 1989 and added Skalka – II/118 in October 2017. Háje – Mirotice (32 km of new construction and widening) was built under the first Czech PPP, the Via Salis concession: Via Salis s.r.o. (formerly DIVia D4, Vinci and Meridiam in equal shares) finances and operates it, Eurovia CS builds it, and the state pays availability payments. The winning bid was 16.55 billion CZK discounted to 1 January 2020 and 31.95 billion CZK nominal to 2049 (Zdopravy.cz); these are payments over the concession, not a construction cost, so no cost is recorded for those lots. The section opened on 17 December 2024. Via Salis also operates 16 km of D4 and I/20 that were already built. Praha – Jíloviště (9 km, I/4) is not a motorway and is not drawn. Dates of the older sections are years from the cs.wikipedia table.
