A7 Moreas Motorway (Corinth – Tripoli – Kalamata) and A71 Lefktro – Sparti

Motorway in the Peloponnese from the A8 (Olympia Odos) near Corinth by way of Tripoli to Kalamata, with the A71 branch from Lefktro to Sparti. The existing 82 km Corinth – Tripoli road was upgraded, and the new sections south of Tripoli built, under a 30-year concession signed with Moreas S.A. on 31 January 2007 and running from 3 March 2008 to 3 March 2038. Paradeisia – Tsakona and the Tsakona arch bridge were built by the Greek state outside the concession. The last section opened on 23 December 2016. The concessionaire gives 159 km for Corinth – Kalamata and 46 km for the branch. Lots follow the opening stages; on concession-built lots, construction start 2008 is the project's start, not a date per section.

Corinth (Moreas interchange, A8) – Tripoli South

Opened in 1991 as the New National Road Corinth – Tripoli, 82.5 km, through the Artemisio tunnel, in several stages and later upgrades during the 1990s (Greek Wikipedia). English Wikipedia gives construction 1984–1990 and formal inclusion in the road network in 1992. Other sources give 82.6 km (capital.gr, 2009) and 82 km (European Commission, 2014) for Corinth – Tripoli. TERGA built the Nestani – Tripoli section (km 0+000 to 18+672, under construction in October 1976, 420 million drachmas design budget) and ATTIKAT the Valanidia – Artemisio section near Nemea (Greek Wikipedia). Moreas J/V carried out the concession upgrade: the second Artemisio bore (about 1,400 m) opened on 12 August 2009, the Neochori tunnels in May – June 2010 and the Sterna tunnels in August 2010.

Paradeisia – Tsakona

Construction by the Peloponnese Region began at the start of 1990 and the road first opened in spring 2000. The Tsakona landslide of February 2003 (about 6 million m³) closed it, and traffic used the old Megalopoli – Kalamata road until the rebuilt section opened on 22 December 2012 with a short diversion at the site of the Tsakona arch bridge, which is a separate lot. The rebuild includes a 500 m viaduct, two 160 m bridges and two cut-and-cover structures. Length 11.5 km as reported at the opening (2012) and by the ministry (2016); Greek Wikipedia gives 11 km, excluding the Tsakona bridge. The deputy minister thanked the TERNA – ALPINE joint venture at the opening.
