Kalamata – Rizomylos – Pylos – Methoni road axis

Kalamata city exit to the Rizomylos connection (chainage 16+411), 16.4 km. The concession documents describe it as an improvement of the existing road network, and the first 20 km or so of the axis as upgrading of existing roads (sditforum.gr). The sources describe the axis as having separated carriageways on part of its length and non-separated on the rest, without splitting this by section, and one calls it a fast-traffic road with two lanes per direction. OpenStreetMap carries the works as highway=construction (construction=primary) and the existing EO 82 as highway=primary, lanes=2. The axis includes a 4 km route bypassing Messini (ypodomes.com, 2 June 2025), which the source does not place in a section. Drawn geometry follows existing EO 82 and construction ways, cut at the sourced chainage; the start point is approximate. Rizomylos to Pylos. Ypodomes.com gives 24.4 km, which sums with the other two sections to the stated 48.7 km; other reports give 25.7 km. Per sditforum.gr the first 20 km or so of the axis are upgrades and the remainder new road, so this section mixes both.
