D10 and DC12 expressways: Sveta Helena – Vrbovec – Križevci and Vrbovec – Bjelovar – Virovitica

First section of the D10, from the A4 at the Sveta Helena interchange to Vrbovec 1. The opening year comes from the 2016 report on the Gradec – Križevci opening, which gives no day. The 8.0 km is the chainage of Vrbovec 1 in the English Wikipedia exit list, counted from Sveta Helena.

Four-lane bypass of Vrbovec with four grade-separated junctions, opened by Deputy Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor on 3 August 2007. It includes the Vrbovec 2 interchange, where the DC12 branches off. The town of Vrbovec reports 15.15 km and the Ministry 15.5 km. Cost about 330 million kuna (HRK). Strabag Hrvatska was the lead contractor.

Opened on 2 September 2016 with a total investment of 595 million kuna (HRK) and 15 structures: 6 bridges, 3 viaducts, 4 overpasses, 1 underpass and 1 wildlife crossing. The report is dated the day of the opening. The mapped carriageway measures about 10.9 km against the 12.5 km given by the source.

Two-lane extension of the expressway north from Križevci. Hrvatske ceste told Hina in October 2026 that the contractor asked for an extension to 23 December 2026, which the supervision service agreed, and that the contract value of 30.6 million euro excluding VAT is not expected to be exceeded. The 30-month term announced in October 2022 pointed to 2025. The route towards Koprivnica is in design.

First section of the DC12, opened on 16 April 2019 after about ten years of works. Cost 349 million kuna (HRK) excluding VAT for construction and equipment. Freight vehicles over 7.5 tonnes were not allowed at opening. Works on the whole route were officially opened on 27 April 2009, and the Bauštela report dates the first works on this section to 2010. The mapped road starts at the first way mapped as DC12, about 400 m south of the D10 mainline.

First 5 km of the Farkaševac – Bjelovar section. In November 2025 the press reported them as formally finished but closed to traffic, and Bauštela repeated in September 2026 that Kamgrad built them. The road cannot be used until the 11.8 km to Bjelovar are done; the Minister said in January 2026 that the aim is to finish Farkaševac – Bjelovar by the end of 2026. In March 2022 the mayor of Bjelovar expected this part by the end of 2022. The mapped road measures about 5.6 km to the end of the built OpenStreetMap ways.

Remaining 11.8 km to the Bjelovar interchange, with a single carriageway. The contract with Kamgrad and Pedom Asfalti was signed in July 2021 and a 30-month term did not change when an addendum for additional works raised it by almost 5 million euro in July 2026. Bjelovar.live reported the contractor introduced to the site on 30 September 2022, while Bauštela dates the works from 2023. The original term would have ended in January 2026; flood and groundwater problems moved it to summer, and Bauštela mentions an unofficial 2027. In January 2026 the Minister said the aim is the end of 2026. The 49.9 million euro quoted for the whole 17 km Farkaševac – Bjelovar section in other press covers both parts and is not recorded as this lot's cost.

Stages 1A (km 0+000 to 5+000) and 1B (to km 9+360), 9.38 km with a single carriageway, 5 bridges, 2 overpasses and 1 underpass, designed for 100 km/h. Stage 1A continues the Farkaševac – Bjelovar section at its km 27+530. Works began at the future Bjelovar interchange on 27 January 2026 and the term is 30 months. The stages end short of the Bulinac interchange, where the next lot continues. Land and property procedures delayed the start for more than a year after signing. The mapped road measures about 10.4 km because the cut at the end of stage 1B is approximate.

Stages 1C and 2A, 11.37 km from km 9+360 across the new Bulinac interchange (with a crossing of the D28) to the Velika Pisanica interchange, with two viaducts, a bridge and several overpasses. The tender gives 4.89 km to the Bulinac interchange and 6.50 km from there, and a 30-month term for the selected contractor. In January 2026 Hrvatske ceste put the estimate at 64 million euro. The mapped line follows the OpenStreetMap construction and proposed ways and measures about 10.6 km.

Section from the Špišić Bukovica interchange to Virovitica, 5.6 km, the part of the DC12 built from the Virovitica side. The press gives a project value of 28.9 million euro, which is not recorded as a contract value. In November 2025 it was due to finish by the end of the year and was about half a year late; Osijek-Koteks builds the Virovitica interchange under a separate contract. The section between Špišić Bukovica and Bjelovar (about 19 km after Velika Pisanica) is in design and is not drawn. In June 2026 the Virovitica-Podravina county prefect said the works on the section were finished, and in August 2026 the mayor of Virovitica also called it finished; no opening date has been found, so the lot stays under construction. The mapped road measures about 5.3 km.
