A4 motorway (Jędrzychowice – Wrocław – Katowice – Kraków – Rzeszów – Korczowa)

Poland's southern east–west motorway from the German border at Jędrzychowice to the Ukrainian border at Korczowa, 667 km per pl.wikipedia. The oldest parts are pre-war Reichsautobahn sections between Krzyżowa and Wrocław (1936–1937); Katowice – Kraków was built from 1976 to 1991 and has been run since 1997 under a toll concession by Stalexport Autostrada Małopolska S.A. that ends on 15 March 2027. Wrocław – Katowice opened in stages from 2000 to 2005, Zgorzelec – Krzyżowa and Kraków – Targowisko in 2009, and Targowisko – Korczowa between 2012 and 2016. Lots follow the pl.wikipedia sections table and opening lists; contract values are given only where the source states them, and gross figures are marked as including VAT.

Krzyżowa – Legnica – Bielany Wrocławskie

Pre-war Reichsautobahn (RAB 9), the oldest motorway in the corridor. Krzywa – Legnica (20.5 km) and Legnica – Wrocław (70.8 km) opened on 27 September 1936 and Golnice – Krzyżowa – Krzywa (17 km, now partly A18) on 17 October 1937. The surface was modernised in 2005–2006 without widening or emergency lanes (110 km/h limit); pl.wikipedia says a rebuild to three lanes plus a hard shoulder in the Wrocław area is expected in 2028–2030. The length of 99 km is from the sections table; the drawn line is 103.19 km.

The first milestone was the Dębica Wschód junction within 6 months of the works start; finishing works outside the main route continued into mid-2015. The first low bid of PLN 1.34 billion gross by NDI was not signed. Drawn length 34.74 km.

Rzeszów Zachód – Rzeszów Północ – Rzeszów Wschód

Two contracts. Rzeszów Północ – Rzeszów Wschód: Mostostal Warszawa and Acciona won at PLN 439.5 million (VAT basis not stated); the building permit was issued on 29 December 2009 and the section opened on 10 September 2012. Rzeszów Zachód – Rzeszów Północ: Radko, Autostrada Wschodnia and Punj Lloyd signed on 22 April 2010 for PLN 441.7 million for A4 and the S19 link (A4 part PLN 234.3 million); GDDKiA terminated it at the end of May 2012 for lack of liquidity after 49% of the financial scope, and Budimex signed a completion contract in early 2013 (PLN 183 million per pl.wikipedia, almost PLN 184 million per GDDKiA), with the section opening on 30 October 2013. No value is recorded as a lot cost because the figures cover parts of the lot or the S19 link. The sources give the second section as 6.5, 6.8 and 6.9 km; 10.9 km is 4 + 6.9 from the sections table. Drawn length 10.28 km.

Jarosław Zachód – Przemyśl – Korczowa (border)

Two design-build contracts: Jarosław – Przemyśl (25 km) and Przemyśl – Korczowa (22 km). A location decision for Przeworsk – Jarosław – Korczowa was issued by the voivode on 15 July 2009. Completion of Jarosław – Radymno was originally planned for April 2012. GDDKiA gives PLN 818 million for the Przemyśl – Korczowa contract (AVAX), a part of the lot, so no lot value is recorded; no value is given for Jarosław – Przemyśl. Drawn length 46.02 km; the road ends at the Korczowa border crossing.
