A6 Lugoj–Calafat Motorway
Partially built motorway planned to link Bucharest with the Banat region across the south of the country, on the route Lugoj – Drobeta-Turnu Severin – Craiova – Calafat (towards the New Europe Bridge to Bulgaria), as part of the southern branch of Pan-European Corridor IV. Only 11.4 km are open, between the A1 interchange near Balinț and Lugoj (December 2013, built under the A1 Lugoj–Deva contract). The rest of the ~260 km planned has been in pre-feasibility since October 2012 as the "South Motorway" (Autostrada Sudului), with the route not yet fixed; a junction with the Pitești–Craiova Expressway is planned near Craiova.
