A0 Bucharest Ring Motorway

Outer motorway ring around Bucharest, about 101 km when complete, running beyond the existing Bucharest Ring Road and linking the A1, A2 and A3 motorways. The southern half-ring (51.2 km) opened in stages between December 2023 and June 2025. On the northern half-ring, the DN1–A3–DN2 section opened in November 2023 and December 2024; the western (A1–DN1) and eastern (DN2–A2) lots are still under construction.

South lot 1: A2 – Popești-Leordeni (DN4) Eastern part of south lot 1 (A2 – CF902 Jilava, 16.93 km), whose contract also covers a 700 m sector of the north ring at the A2 junction (km 52+070 – 52+770). Opened in July 2024, three months after the lot's western 6.0 km (130km.ro). The 10.93 km is the lot's 16.93 km less those 6.0 km, so it includes the 700 m north-ring sector. Contract signed with Alsim Alarko on 26 August 2019. North half-ring: A2 – DN2 Bucharest ring motorway, found eligible for EU financing after the 2016 traffic studies. Lot 4 (Pantelimon – Glina, 4.47 km) reached 99% physical progress in June 2026 but cannot open before Lot 3, because without it Lot 4 has no outlet (Mediafax, 27 June 2026). For Lot 3 (Afumați – Pantelimon), CNAIR reported the contractor's commitment to open traffic on 10 October 2026, at about 94% progress (Cine Construiește, 29 August 2026). 130km.ro records 2.3 km of lot 3 open since December 2024, next to north lot 2.
