Bucharest Metro Line M5 (Drumul Taberei)
Newest line of the Bucharest Metro, serving the dense Drumul Taberei district. The first phase runs 6.9 km from Râul Doamnei to Eroilor with 10 stations, including the Valea Ialomiței branch towards the depot; construction started in April 2011 and, after repeated delays, the line opened on 15 September 2020 at an expected cost of €708.6 million with EU support. Phase II would extend the line east from Eroilor under the city centre to Iancului, and a third phase on to Pantelimon on the M1.
