Design-and-build modernisation of CFR lines 103 and 106A between București Progresu, Jilava, Giurgiu Nord and Giurgiu Nord Frontieră, the approach to the Giurgiu–Ruse bridge. Lot 2 covers electrification, signalling and ERTMS Level 2. Works are under way, with traffic suspended between Jilava and Frătești from 16 March 2026.

| Lot 2: București Progresu – Jilava – Giurgiu Nord – Giurgiu Nord Frontieră Contract signed on 14 August 2025 with the RailWorks association (Arcada Company as leader, Alstom Transport): 6 months of design, 30 months of works, 120 months of guarantee and 2 months of post-acceptance activities, 158 months in total. CFR states that traffic is suspended between Jilava and Frătești from 16 March 2026 for the works, with similar measures to follow on București Progresu – Jilava and Frătești – Giurgiu Nord Frontieră; CFR estimates completion and reopening for September 2028. CFR's release of 12 March 2026 says the conditions for starting works are met and gives no start date for works, so the start is recorded as March 2026 only. Length measured from OpenStreetMap geometry (one track, from București Progresu to the start of the Giurgiu–Ruse bridge approach).
