Subotica – Horgoš – Hungarian Border Railway

Reconstruction of the Serbian section of the single-track Szeged–Subotica line, Serbian line 201, from Subotica to the Hungarian border near Horgoš. Works began in June 2021 and passenger service resumed on 28 November 2023, together with the rebuilt Hungarian section. Passenger trains had been suspended on the Horgoš–Subotica section since 2015. The Hungarian section (MÁV line 136, 15 km Szeged–Röszke) is not part of this project.

Length measured from OpenStreetMap geometry; no published length for the Serbian section was found. Works began in June 2021 with demolition of the worn infrastructure. Track reached the border in March 2022 and the overhead line was finished by April 2022. RZD International won the international tender announced in early 2021; no contract value or cost is recorded. The geometry starts at Subotica station, a short distance south of where the Belgrade–Subotica project's geometry ends.
