Agigea bridges over the Danube–Black Sea Canal

Two cable-stayed road bridges over the Danube–Black Sea Canal at its Agigea end, on the road link between Constanța, its southern port and the seaside resorts. The 1983 bridge, designed by a team led by engineer Octavian Strâmbu, was the first cable-stayed bridge on a Romanian national road: 290 m long, with a 162.5 m span over the navigable channel. A second, larger cable-stayed bridge, 360 m long with a 200 m central span, was built at km 0+540 and inaugurated on 19 October 2015 to relieve the original crossing.
